Quick update

Here are some recent pics. of Violet and Eli. The other day for playgroup we made milk carton gingerbread houses. Eli had a great time and loved eating all of the candy. The pics. of Violet are of her in her Christmas dress I finished a couple of weeks ago. I'm a little sad it turned out to be a little too big but better big than small right?

A picture with Santa

We had a great ward party the other night and at the end Santa came for a visit. One of the sisters in our ward took this picture of the kids and I think it turned out cute.

The First Day of School

Porter is in Kindergarten - I can't believe it! He was not too happy about his first day of school. He said it was the worst day ever - but then I discovered that he had a fever of 101 and a really bad headache. No wonder he didn't love the first day. He took some Tylenol and eventually told me the good things about his day. I feel really bad that he didn't know to tell the teacher he was sick. His fever broke in the middle of the night and he felt great the next morning and was excited for school. I'm not sure what was wrong but at least he is over it. He had a wonderful day yesterday and couldn't wait to go back to school today. I also posted a few cute pics. of Violet and Eli. Eli wanted to be just like Porter and get his picture taken before we left to take Porter to school.

A visit with the Owens'

This last weekend I was lucky enough to get a chance to take Violet home to meet my brothers. We had an amazing time. I also got to meet my new little niece Paige. She is such a doll. There are many thanks I need to give - first of all thanks to my awesome husband who took a couple of days of vacation off of work so he could stay home with the kids while I was gone. He didn't complain the entire weekend and I really appreciate his eagerness to let me go see my fam. Thanks also to my mother - in- laws for helping with the kids, doing the laundry and cleaning up for me so the house would be in tip top shape when I returned. Thanks to Jacque for taking me to and from Idaho. Thanks to my parents who let me bunk with them at their hotel. And thanks to all my awesome brothers and their wives for making the trip great!

On Thursday Jan picked me up from the airport. I got to spend the night with Jake, These are some pics of the girls together.

Robert, An Easter Dress, A Hair Cut and so much more

Life has been a little crazy lately so it has been awhile since I posted. As a result we have a lot to catch up on.

Porter's training wheels broke a few weeks ago. Porter loves to ride his bike which he lovingly named Robert right after he got it for Christmas. I decided to let him try and ride his bike without the training wheels. On his very first time Porter rode all the way down the street by himself then stopped and yelled "I don't know how to turn around." Since then he has learned how to turn around and is doing a great job on two wheels.

For Easter I made Violet an Easter Dress. I had a great time working on this little project. I think it turned out well considering it is my first dress. The boys got some new shirts too - unfortunately we couldn't get a good picutre of all three kids so I posted the not so good one.

It was finally time for our little E to get a hair cut. I hated to see the beautiful ringlets go but I am ready for people to stop thinking he is a girl. I posted a picture of him last week at an Easter Egg hunt so you can get an idea of how long his hair actually was.

Bo and his dad took the kids to the beach about two weeks ago. They had a great time.

We took the kids to an Easter Egg Hunt. The first pic. is of all Porter's treasures. The second pic. is what we found when we went to get Eli out of the car. What a mess!

Vi's Blessing

This weekend we were lucky enough to have my parents come down for Violet's blessing. It was great to see them and have them be part of our special day. Bo's parents were able to come too along with his brother, sister, grandparents and aunt. Here are some pics - Vi wasn't too happy but we had to get a few pics on her big day. She is wearing my blessing dress - thanks for saving it for me mom!

More Violet!

Violet is now 12 days old. She's doing great and is a sweet baby. Here are some pictures that we took earlier today. Porter and Elias are good big brothers. They both try to help with the baby, and Eli loves to hold her (even though it is pretty scary.) Porter was facinated that her cord fell off today. He called the cord a 'hose'. We're happy that she's here.

Almost out of the NICU

This last week has been completely crazy! The birth of Violet was great - the boys totally love her and are great helpers. The dr. at the hospital told us we needed to have Violet checked right away because her jaundice levels were a little high when we checked out of the hospital. We had her checked again on Thursday and her pediatrician wanted her checked again on Friday. Well, on Friday after she was checked we got a call saying she had to be admitted to the hospital. It has been a few stressful days but we just got a call with the great news - she gets to come home in about an hour. The NICU is closed for a shift change from 6:30-8:30 so I came home to help with the boys - and shortly after I got home they called and said we can pick her up at 8:00 tonight. We can't wait to have her home again!
